Government Records
The government plays an interesting role when it comes to aliens and UFOs. On the one hand, they maintain the largest databases and records of alien encounters. On the other hand, they have a vested interest in making sure any legitimate encounter with aliens and UFOs is covered up. Here are some sources of government records on aliens and UFOs that are available to the general public:
In most cases the government records were only made available after many years of unsuccessful public records requests via the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Decades later, the government chose the release portions of the documents that they have on aliens and UFOs.
The resources that are available are extremely interesting to people that believe in and research extraterrestrial life. They are also interesting to skeptics that do not believe in the existence of life outside of Earth. The real question is what information does the government have that they are not making public?

Area 51 Declassified CIA Documents
Area 51 is one of the most famous focal points of UFO theories. It has been referred to in popular culture numerous times as a place that is associated with crashed alien spacecraft, alien corpses, government conspiracies and many other similar topics. In 2013, a CIA report finally confirmed the existence of Area 51 in a set of declassified documents on the history of OXCART and various U-2 projects.
